Deputy Head of Mission at Al Azhar Observatory

Representative of the Czech Embassy visited on 18 June the so called Al Azhar Observatory. This institution refutes ideological and religious extremism by explaining in the online world the true meaning of Islam and by correcting its misinterpretations.

All of that is done in eleven world languages, which include for instance Chinese, Urdu or Swahili. Moreover, the Observatory also issues religious fatwas in four foreign languages (English, French, Spanish and German). It has been a most engaging visit.
