The aim of the project is to support local implementer´s activities in the following areas:

• Supporting civil society, including human rights defenders;
• Promoting freedom of expression and information, including freedom of the media;
• Promoting an equal and full political and public participation;
• Supporting institution-building in the area of the rule of law;
• Promoting equality and non-discrimination;
• Promoting human rights in employment and the environmental context.

Methods:

• Sharing and transfer of the experience of the Czech project promoters;
• Sharing of information, experience and good practices;
• Organization of training and seminars, visits and secondments for Czech experts to target countries;
• Study visits to the Czech Republic for foreign participants involved in the projects;
• Micro grants to grassroots organizations.

Who can apply:

• A project can only be proposed and implemented by a local entity that has legal subjectivity in Egypt (NGOs, networks, platforms, umbrella organizations of NGOs).
• A contribution cannot be claimed by an individual.

Duration:

• Implementation of the project activities - about 10 months (December 2021 - October 2022).

Budget and possible contribution:

• The financial contribution for a project is up to 500,000 CZK (approx. 19,500 EUR). One organization may apply for one project only.
• The project should be effective and economical, all receipts must be documented.

How to apply

The application for the grant must include:

1.     The filled-in identification form, signed and stamped by the organization.
2.     amount in EGP requested (Czech crowns sections to be left blank)
3.     A verified copy of the certification that the applicant has legal subjectivity in Egypt (i.e. it is officially registered);
4.     A confirmation that the person signed on the identification form has the authority to act of behalf of the organisation.

Deadlines:

• All the documents must be submitted in Czech or English.
• All applications have to be sent to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in electronic form no later than Saturday 16 October 2021.
• The electronic form must be sent to the address oldrich_vondruska@embassy.cz. The filled out Identification Form needs to be attached in 2 forms: 1) PDF file – scan of filled out Identification Form complete with stamp and signature; 2) Excel file – the editable filled out Identification Form.
• Only complete applications submitted in this form and in line with these instructions will be admitted for evaluation.
