So far, three years of the course have taken place and gave the Egyptian students an insight into the traditional Czech technical know-how.

2014 - two specialized courses were dealing with blacksmith and advanced jewellery-making techniques

2013 - second year of the project ook place in Cairo, the the Azza Fahmy Designs Studio.

The teachers of the Turnov school, in cooperation with the well known Egyptian jeweller Mrs Azza Fahmy, taught students not only the basics of metal processing but also the techniques of enamelling and filigree during a three-week intensive course.

• In 2012 the firstsmall-scale development project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic took place focusing on the renewal of jewellery-making education in the Nasr El Nuba region, in the Aswan governorate. Teachers from the Secondary School of Applied Arts and the College of Art (http://www.sups.info/) in Turnov, the Czech Republic, taught the basics of jewellery-making techniques to the student of local secondary vocational school.
• The project was highly appreciated by the local community which asked the school management and the governorate of Aswan to accredit the subject for curriculum at this and other schools of the region. With regard to the fact that the once traditional jewellery making has practically disappeared, the management of the school in Nasr El Nuba as well as the governorate of Aswan are looking for ways how to educate a group of teachers who would be able to transfer this type of knowledge further.
• The jewellery education presents for the members of the Nuba community a very perspective possible future field of activity and that is why there was a big interest in continuation of the project.
