As of July 30, 2020, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo will – in limited extent and amounts – resume provision of visa and consular services to public.

Verification/ (super) legalizations requests are accepted only in following hours in the visa section building: Wednesday 10:00 – 11:30 after the prior email request!

 

 

Requests concerning passports, birth registrations, citizenship certificate requests, etc.:

 Appointment needed - only via e-mail (consulate_cairo@mzv.cz) or eventually via phone (0020 2 3333 9700), whereas e-mail communication is preferred.

 

Please, do not follow these office hours now.

Verification/ (super)legalizations requests will be accepted only in following hours in the visa section building:

No appointment needed

Mondays  15:00-15:45 (after passport collection hours) – except of holidays

Thursdays 15:00-15:45 (after passport collection hours) – except of holidays

In same hours verified/ legalized documents will be collected (after the applicant had been informed that his request is ready for collection).

 

Passport collections after 15 days from lodging the short-term schengen visa applications:

From Sunday through Thursday between 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm. During Ramadan the hours are from 1:00 - 2:00 pm.

Exceptionally a passport can be collected by an authorized person or via DHL on the basis of power of attorney with a verified signature - with no responsibility for eventual loss/damage on the Embassy side.

 

Other information:

  • As of 16.1.2017 Libyan passport holders can lodge schengen visa applications either in Tunis acoording to this schedule: http://www.mzv.cz/tripoli/en/visa_information/index.html or in Cairo. Long term visa applications shall be lodged in Cairo.

  • Based on the Decision of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Ref.: 1/2018 dated 9 February 2018 citizens of Yemen are obliged to lodge their short-term schengen visa applications and long-term visa applications / permits at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Riyadh or at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo. Yemeni Citizens are obliged to lodge their visa applications in person only, without the possibility of using a visa centre.

  • Starting with January 15, 2015 the Sudanese passport holders and persons with residence in Sudan travelling to the Czech Republic can apply for short term visa (schengen visa) at the Embassy of Switzerland in Khartoum, Street 15, House No. 7, Amarat-Khartoum. At the same time  they can lodge their short term visa application at the Czech Embassy  in Cairo. If the stay in the Czech Republic will exceed 3 month and/or be for employment, study, marriage or family reunification, the applicant must be lodged directly with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo.
  • The Palestinian applicants from the Gaza strip shall lodge their visa applications either at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo, or, at the Czech Embassy in Tel Aviv. or, at the Representative Office in Ramallah.
  • Long term visa applicants and family reunification applicants form Sudan and Eritrea shall also lodge their visa applications at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo.
