Mr Pohl was received by the members of The Czech and Slovak Association of Tasmania, headed by its president Mr Harry Nermut, who regaled the Ambassador with true blue Czech-Slovak-Tasmanian schnitzel and potato salad. Martin Pohl informed his compatriots about the activities of the Czech Embassy in Canberra and discussed the possibilities of supporting expatriate activities. Mr Pohl also reported on the recent visit to Australia by a delegation of the Standing Senate Commission on Compatriots Living Abroad. 

Accompanied by Mrs Milena Mills, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic based in Hobart, the Czech Ambassador met with the Governor of Tasmania, Her Excellency Mrs Kate Warner, as well as with senior officials of both chambers of the Parliament: the Dean of the University of Tasmania, Mr Peter Wilson, and the Deputy Lord Mayor of the City of Hobart, Mr Alderman Ron Christie. During the meetings, Ambassador Pohl emphasized the value-based proximity between Tasmania and the Czech Republic and the favourable prospects for further development of mutual relations with a particular focus on trade. 

Ambassador Pohl concluded his official visit to Tasmania in Launceston where he met with a prominent Czech born entrepreneur and holder of the Gratias Agit Award, Mr Josef Chromý.
