Change in the rules for returning to the Czech Republic from 17 January 2022

From 17.1.2022 Australia is included in the list of countries with a very high risk of infection

With effect from Monday 17.1.2022, Australia will be placed on the list of countries at very high risk of infection. This will result in stricter conditions for return from these countries:

Before travelling to the Czech Republic, travellers must notify the regional health station responsible for their place of residence of their arrival by completing an Arrival Form and presenting proof of completion to border control on request.

Prior to entering the Czech Republic by public transport (e.g. plane, train, bus), the traveller must have written confirmation from the health service provider of a negative RT-PCR test result (max. 72 hours after collection). If they are citizens of the Czech Republic and their family members travelling with a temporary residence permit issued by the Czech Republic, citizens of the European Union with a temporary residence permit issued by the Czech Republic, or foreigners with a permanent residence permit issued by the Czech Republic, they may also have a negative result of the antigen test before entering the Czech Republic by public transport (max. 48 hours after collection). Carriers will not allow transport to passengers who do not present a SARS-CoV-2 test and an arrival form.

Citizens of the Czech Republic, EU citizens with a temporary residence permit issued by the Czech Republic and foreigners with a permanent residence permit issued by the Czech Republic travelling by individual transport do not need to be tested before travel.

After entering the Czech Republic, it is obligatory to undergo an RT-PCR test for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 between the 5th and 7th day. Until the RT-PCR test is negative, travellers must wear a respirator or similar respiratory protective device (without an exhalation valve) meeting at least all technical conditions and requirements (for the product), including a filtration efficiency of at least 94 % according to the relevant standards (e.g. FFP2, CN 95), everywhere outside the home.

EXCEPTIONS FOR:

- Vaccinated persons (with completed vaccination + 14 days) and persons with a history of COVID-19, no testing required, with arrival form only

- children up to the age of 12 years, no tests and no arrival form required
