Czechoslovak Film Festival in Canberra

Over the weekend from the 4th - 6th October 2019, 7th Czech and Slovak Film Festival of Australia came to the Australian capital.

After a successful opening in Melbourne, the festival made the trip to Canberra for the second year in a row. The film Jana Palach was one of many Czech and Slovak films, documentaries and fairy tales that were screened throughout the festival. The film not only reflects 50 years since the self-immolation of Jana Palach, but was also dedicated in memoriam to the memory of Milan Kantor OAM, a long-term supporter of the festival and Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Melbourne.

On behalf of the CaSFFA team and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Canberra, we would like to thank all visitors who came out and supported the festival. All that´s left to do is to look forward to next year´s festival.
