Exhibition: Czechs and Slovaks in Brodie Helmets

The czech Embassy in Canberra organised an exhibition focusing on the cooperation between the Czechoslovak and Australian armed forces during a significant battle of World War II – the Siege of Tobruk.

The opening took place yesterday at the ANU Centre for European Studies in Canberra. The opening was preceded by short speeches by the Centre's Director, Anne McNaughton, Czech Ambassador, Tomáš Dub, Slovak Ambassador Tomáš Ferko, and an academic lecture by history student Guy Butler-Manuel and Prof. Frank Bongiorno on the significance of the battle, as well as its projection into modern popular culture.
We would like to thank all speakers and guests for their participation and we look forward to further cooperation!
