Glass sculptor Martin Janecky is visiting Australia

Famous Czech glass sculptor Martin Janecky is visiting Australia on his tour of universities and other organisations.

He’all spend three weeks in Canberra, splitting his time between Canberra Glassworks and Australian National University.

Mr Janecky amazed his audience during public presentations at Canberra Glassworks on Thursday 10/09/2015 and Saturday 12/09/2015 where he masterfully created detailed horse head and woman’s body torso without any sketches or photos. Mr Janecky despite his worldwide fame is exceptionally talented down to earth young man.

Mr Janecky will host another public presentation at the Glass Workshop at Australian National University on 24/09/2015 at 6pm at SOA Lecture Centre (See attached invitation).

 

Short bio: Martin Janecky began his career with glass at the age of 13 and later explored sculpting methods in the Czech Republic. By the time he was 20, he was employed by leading artists and designers around the world to assist and to execute specific works. Janecky has served as an instructor, visiting artist, and gaffer at several glassmaking schools, including The Studio, Penland School of Crafts, and Pilchuck Glass School.
