Chengdu hosted the World Police & Fire Games 2019

The World Police & Fire Games have become an exceptional international sport event that offers to the police officers, firefighters, customs and prison staff the opportunity to show their athletic skills. Over the years, the games have gained popularity and the number of participants and participating states has increased.

Historically, for the first time in its history, the games took place in Asia. This year China and its city Chengdu hosted the games for 9 days, from August 9th to August 18th, 2019. The games were attended by representatives of 79 countries, including the Czech Republic, with a total of 8360 athletes competing in 56 sports.

The Czech delegation achieved a number of significant successes. The 23 athletes of the Czech team achieved a great success in swimming, running up the stairs of high-rise building in full firefighting equipment, in karate, in the Ultimate Fire Fighter discipline, etc.

Overall, the Czech team won 13 gold, 12 silver and 16 bronze medals, which is undoubtedly a great success.
