Consul General Ms. Kateřina Vovková met with Directors General of local Foreign Affairs Offices

In connection with her arrival in Chengdu and taking up the post of Consul General of the Czech Republic, Ms. Kateřina Vovková met with CUI Zhiwei, Director General of the Sichuan Provincial Office of Foreign Relations, and JIANG Bin, Director General of the Chengdu City Foreign Relations Office. The meetings took place in a pleasant atmosphere and were used for mutual exchange of information on intended activities and opportunities for further cooperation.
Cultural cooperation offers very good opportunities and the city of Chengdu has a very strong interest in establishing a partnership with one of the Czech cities. Both sides also agreed on good opportunities for cooperation in health care and at university level.
Furthermore, both parties appreciated the products of the Škoda carmaker. Czech beer also has a good sound. Changhong's investment in the Czech Republic, whose project is one of the most successful Chinese activities in the Czech Republic, is very positive. As part of the company's cooperation, the Chinese side appreciates the installation of radars for the new international airport in Chengdu by Eldis.
Both sides hope to overcome the difficulties associated with the COVID pandemic, which has severely affected the tourist exchange between Sichuan and the Czech Republic in particular. In this context, hopes were also expressed for the resumption of direct air connections between Chengdu and Prague.
