
Czechia Celebrated the National Day in Chengdu with Czech Beer, Food and Music

On 26th October 2016 Czech Consulate General in Chengdu organised its first ever National Day Reception in the cozy premises of Niccolo Hotel Chengdu.
The reception hosted around 350 guests, including the Consuls General and other diplomats from Chengdu and Chongqing, representatives of various government departments and agencies, businesspeople, journalists, Czech citizens living in Southwestern China and other friends of the Consulate General. Consul General Zbyněk Noha and the guest of honour Mr. Zhai Zhanyi, Vice Chairman of Sichuan CPPCC, delivered their speeches (the speech of Consul General is enclosed below). After that together with Ms. Yang Xiaoying, Vice Chairwoman of Chengdu CPPCC, toasted to the good relations and friendship between Czechia and Sichuan.
Excellent Czech Executive Chef from Mandarin Oriental Prague Mr. Jiří Štift prepared delicious Czech food for the guests. And the main drink of the reception was Czech draft beer.
A Czech classical music quartet “L´Harmonia Ensemble” (Jan Rezek, Lenka Bartoníčková, Jan Pařík, Jakub Uhlík) presented the National Anthems of the Czech republic and the People´s Republic of China and later played pieces by Czech and world renowned composers.
