The Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Chengdu is currently looking for a candidate for position – Assistant to the Consular Section.


Position: Assistant to the Consular Section


Ability to effectively respond visa and consular matters with tact and compassion, ability to manage work efficiently, ability to work with computer/internet, responsible person with organizational abilities, flexibility and strong communication skills, well in a team. Chinese citizenship. Fluent in spoken and written English.

Job characteristics:

The work mainly consists of handling the Schengen visa applications – checking reliability of the documents provided by the applicant, phone interviews, translation during personal interviews etc. Flexible assistance during consular issues such as translation, communication with local authorities, assistance on site etc. might be needed. Active assistance and participation during events of the Consulate.

Working hours are 40 hours per week. A need for over-time work may occur. In that case extra leave can be provided upon agreement. Three months probation. Working contract signed for the period of 1 year (maternity leave substitution).

Candidate should provide curriculum vitae in English, to be delivered to the e-mail address of the Consulate chengdu@embassy.mzv.cz. Cover letter of the applicant (including briefly the candidate‘s motivation and suitability for the position). Recommendation letter from previous employer is welcome.
