Czech Food and Drinks Came to Chengdu

People in Chengdu had a great opportunity to taste some of the Czech delicacies without traveling to the Czech Republic. Distributors of Czech beer, wine, spirits, chewing gums and honey cake met with Sichuan and Chengdu journalists at the Consulate General of the Czech Republic and later presented their products at Food and Drink Fair in Chengdu.

On 23rd March 2016 representatives of prominent Chengdu based media came to the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Chengdu to taste some of the great Czech soft power – beer of various brands, honey cake “Marlenka”, wine, absinth, mineral water, special chewing gums and other products. Consul General Zbynek Noha gave an interview to some of the journalists and spoke about the passion that Czechs and Chinese share – food and drinks. The representatives of media, some of whom had visited the Czech Republic before, interacted with distributors of Czech food and drink products in order to learn more stories behind their success on the Chinese market.

The event was connected to the Food and Drink Fair that took place in Chengdu at the EXPO Center on 24th – 26th March 2016. The Czech stand at the Fair offered some of the best traditional Czech brands in the field of food and beverage as well as some new and dynamic products (see the enclosure for all brands presented). Very high number of Chinese visitors could admire beautiful Czech glassware, try tasty beer and wine, strong absinth, healthy mineral water and chewing gums that can change your life(-style). The Czech pavilion was prepared and coordinated by the CzechTrade Office in Chengdu.
