Factory for Czech Aircrafts Opened in Zigong

On 26th September 2016 the first Chinese factory for Czech aircrafts was officially opened in the city of Zigong, Sichuan Province.

Joint project of the Czech Company Skyleader and Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) came to the point when the production hall for the two-seated aircraft SL-600 was officially opened by Mr. Jan Kohout, Advisor of the Czech President, Mr. Liu Jie, Vice-governor of Sichuan Province. The official opening ceremony was also attended by Consul General Zbyněk Noha, President of the Sino-Czech Aviation Association Petr Hýl, CEO of Skyleader company Igor Stratil, Party Secretary of Zigong city Li Gang, Mayor of Zigong city Liu Yongxiang, Party Secretary of AVIC Sichuan Zhao Yubo and other important officials and representatives.

Two aircrafts SL-600 were flown symbolically each by two pilots – a Czech one and a Chinese one. Hundreds of citizens of Zigong came to see the historic moment – the first official flight of a Czech aircraft in China.

The factory is planned to produce up to 100 aircrafts a year and is scheduled to be fully operational by 2017.
