26th Chicago European Union Film Festival

The Gene Siskel Film Center will present the 26th Chicago European Union Film Festival (CEUFF) that will take place between March 1st and March 31st. This year 24 films from 23 countries of the European Union will be screened.

Art Talent Show

Czechia will be represented by the movie ART TALENT SHOW, directed by Adéla Komrzý and Tomáš Bojar.

The screening will take place Thu. March 9, 8:30pm & Sat. March 18, 1:45pm

Everyone’s a critic. Art students know this perhaps better than anyone. At the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, yearly admission assessments are held to determine who will earn a coveted spot at the institution.

A movie in co-production of Czechia, Slovakia and Germany directed by Michal Blaško.

The screening will take plce Tue. March 21, 6:15pm & Sun. March 26, 3:45pm.

VICTIM is a taut social drama – and was Slovakia’s submission for Academy Award consideration. Ukrainian immigrant Irina is a single mother living in a small town in the Czech Republic. When her son Igor is attacked and injured, the whole town stands beside her in solidarity, condemning their Roma neighbors who are allegedly responsible for the crime, and who are regularly slandered and othered in local media coverage.
