Exhibition ´The Pernstein women and Europe´

On September 16, 2020, the exhibition Pernstein Women and Europe has been unveiled in the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. The exhibition was prepared by the East Bohemian Museum in Pardubice and inaugurated with the participation of the museum's director, Mr. Tomáš Libánek.

The exhibition highlights the role of women in the formation of Europe’s cultural identity during the Early Modern Era. On the example of women of the last members of the Pernstein family generation, the exhibition shows the connection of this important Czech aristocratic family with the European culture of the time. The exhibition was opened with the participation of the Czech Ambassador to the Council of Europe Mr. Emil Ruffer and will be displayed at the Palace of Europe until the end of September 2020. The Head of the Private Office of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Mr. Miroslav Papa, delivered a short message from the Secretary General.
