The Czech and Slovak Language Center in Astoria, New York is seeking Language Center Manager

The Czech and Slovak Language Center in Astoria, New York is seeking Language Center Manager who will be responsible for its effective operation.


 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for hiring and managing the teacher staff and monitoring their performance while adhering to the requirements of the law
  • Responsible for ensuring a safe and secure school environment for the students
  • Creating the school schedule, planning school calendar and manage the organization of the weekend classes and events
  • Creating a school budget before the school classes begin
  • Responsible for seeking and applying for financial and other grant opportunities to supplement the school budget
  • Responsible for organizing and coordinating school activities, including: events, field trips and performances, ensuring timely notifications to parents and teachers and coordinating the school’s  participation at Society events
  • Ensure effective communications with parents pertaining to all aspects of the school program
  • Providing concise and comprehensive written and oral activity reports
  • Providing information and analysis of the summer camp program to assess cost effectiveness and possible program changes
  • Ordering the books, textbooks and other items needed for the smooth operation of the school

  

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English and Czech/Slovak.
  • Passionate attitude towards school age children. Teaching background a must.
  • Effective organizational and communication skills.
  • Work experience in U.S. educational establishment a plus.
  • College level education and teaching certificate at the minimum.
  • Teaching Licenses in U.S. or Europe a plus.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must agree to background check release
