Important notice - Adjustment of the Consular Section office hours

In compliance with extraordinary health protection measures for both the visitors of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York and its employees against the COVID-19 infection, the opening hours of the Consulate Section of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York has been modified with effect from June 15, 2020 until further notice.
 

The modified opening hours are in effect until further notice:

MONDAY:     9:30AM – 12:30PM

TUESDAY:    9:30AM – 12:30PM and 2:00PM – 4:00PM

THURSDAY: 9:30AM – 12:30PM

The Consular Section handles applications primarily by mail. Only requests that are of an urgent nature and cannot be processed by mail are handled during a personal visit.

The request for a face-to-face meeting must be sent by email, which must include following:
· Type of action required
· Reason for urgency
· US address
· Residence status in the USA
· Telephone number

Your request must be sent to the Consular Section email address cs.ny@mzv.cz. You will receive a confirmation with the date and time of your visit and the name of the consular officer in reply.

The security guard will not allow access into the premises of the Consulate General without a confirmation of the appointment. Therefore, showing the confirmation e-mail (printed or on device) with a scheduled date of the visit at the lobby upon arrival is required.

We kindly ask all applicants with confirmed appointment with the consular officer to wear masks/face coverings or respirators and gloves when entering the premises of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic. Entry into the premises of the Consulate General without covering your nose and mouth using mask/face covering or respirator is not allowed. Upon entry, all visitors will be asked to take their temperature and complete a short COVID-19 questionnaire (PDF, 425 KB).

Documents presented to the consulate department do not insert into a plastic/vinyl sheet protector, but use a paper envelope or paper folder instead.

Upon entering the premises of the Consulate General we urge to use a hand sanitizer available at the reception.

Please note that processing of your application may require a longer time than usual.
