Czech Applied Design Exhibition and Participation at the UN International Bazaar

Between May 23 and May 26, 2017 an exhibition “Czech Applied Design (Fashion and Crystal Glass)” that was the last part of month-long presentation of Czech design in New York was held at the Bohemian National Hall. Three Czech companies – Crystalite Bohemia, Holík International and Tonak – presented their design products at the event.

Unique Czech design products of three Czech manufacturers – Crystalite Bohemia (crystal glass), Holík International (fashion gloves) and Tonak (fashion hats) were presented to the New York visitors of the exhibition that was part of the NYCxDESIGN calendar. The exhibition was opened by Consul General of the Czech Republic in New York Martin Dvořák and during the solemn evening, the visitors had a chance to appreciate the high level of both the design of exhibited products as well as the quality of the manufacturing itself. Several participants immediately showed interest in purchasing the exhibited products which confirms that Czech design products are and have been traditionally praised by New York customers.

After the end of the exhibition, presented fashion products were donated by Tonak and Holík International to be sold at the annual UN International Bazaar (together with other typical Czech products). The funds raised at the UN Bazaar were used as a contribution to the Balsam Project for Syrian Women and Refugees and the UN Women’s Guild Children’s Project.
