Czech games market and its opportunities

The Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York, in collaboration with CzechInvest and the Czech Center New York, presents a lecture of Pavel Barák, chairman of the Czech Game Developers Association, about the gaming industry in the Czech Republic.

Pavel Barák will introduce the Czech gaming industry, present key numbers about the industry and also some of the main gaming studios.

Pavel has been active in the game industry for more than 15 years. A co-founder and chairman of the Czech Game Developers Association (GDACZ), which supports and represents developers in the Czech Republic. He is the author of recently released study “Czech Video Game Industry” researching local game development and current state of the industry.

For the past ten years, he has been the director of the oldest independent game development conference in Europe, the Game Developers Session, which is also one of the largest game conferences in the region. In 2005, he founded Handjoy, a game development studio that specializes in mobile and advertising games and has released more than 10 commercial titles to date.

The evening will feature Evan Anthony, designer and animator, as guest.
