Czech Pavilion at the TechCrunch Disrupt NY 2017 Conference on Wednesday May 17 was quite visible due to Czech startups Actijoy, Incomaker, Viagoood and XTND. Furthermore, another Czech startup SlidesLive presented their product at the Startup Alley of the conference. During the entire day, Czech companies had a chance to meet many VCs or Angels as well as get to know other startups founders or representatives of New York’s accelerators and incubators. Czech Pavilion was also visited by Undersecretary of State Miloslav Stašek who praised the innovative products of Czech exhibitors.

Due to the Economic Diplomacy Project of the Consulate General, Czech startups underwent series of trainings in pitching, fundraising or marketing that they could use in praxis during their week-long stay in New York. After their participation at the TechCrunch Disrupt Conference, several side events were organized for Czech startups that included presentations of their companies and products in front of several VC funds representatives (Rubicon Venture Capital, Scout Ventures or Brand Foundry). In cooperation with VentureOut that prepared the side program for Czech startups, several other meetings with PR, immigration or tax professionals were arranged to ease future entering to the US market for these promising Czech companies.

Furthermore, a Czech Tech Pitch Night was organized on May 18 by VentureOut at SparkLabs to enable Czech startups another access to VCs. Part of the program of Czech startups in NY was also the participation at the European Network Tech Mixer that was held at the Bohemian National Hall under auspices of the Consul General of the Czech Republic.
