Visa and Consular Information

OFFICIAL LANGUAGES:

The official languages used at the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York are Czech and English.

Please note that the solely means of communication with the visa department of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic are email, telephone, fax or letter.

IMPORTANT:

All consular agenda is handled on the appointment basis.

All applicants need to schedule an appointment in advance via an email ONLY.

Request for an appointment must be sent to NewYork.Consulate@mzv.gov.cz (consular) or NewYork.Visa@mzv.gov.cz (visa)

VISA

Short-term (Schengen) visa, long-term visa and residence permit applicants need to schedule an appointment in advance via an email ONLY. Request for an appointment must be sent to visa.ny@mzv.cz. The request must specify a reason for the stay in the Czech Republic (type of visa, residence permit etc.)

Please be aware that no status updates on short term visa, long term visa and residency applications will be given by the Consulate (neither by mail nor phone). For status updates please visit our website: http://www.mzv.cz/consulate.newyork/en/visa_and_consular_information/visa/approved_visa/index.html.
If your number does not appear on the website, then it means your visa is still in process.  Please keep in mind the visa processing times when checking your visa status.

OTHER CONSULAR SERVICES

For other consular services (Czech passports, notarization of documents, criminal records, Czech citizenship, birth, marriage and death certifications, notarization of translations), please schedule your appointment by e-mail at cs.ny@mzv.cz.
