Czech experts interested in the Danish labor market model "Flexicurity"

Czech experts representing NGOs Business for Society (Byznys pro společnost) and the Employers Union (Unie zaměstnavatelů), joined consultations on labor market issues during the last week of March (26 - 29 March) in Copenhagen. The main objective was to discuss the Danish labor market model called "Flexicurity".

Flexible work environment and diverse labor market are the main traits of an extraordinary economic performance of the Danish economy. Many European countries including the Czech Republic are interested in exchange of experiences or even implementation of this model.

The consultations took place in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Prague. Among others were Danish institutions in Copenhagen such as the Confederation of Danish Industries (DI), Confederation of Danish Employers (DA), Danish Chamber of Commerce (Dansk Erhverv), Danish Confederation of Trade Unions (LO - Landsorganisationen i Danmark) and the Institute of Sociology at the University of Copenhagen.

During this intensive three-day programme, the Czech delegation also held talks with the Czech Ambassador Radek Pech. The discussion was devoted to the practicalities regarding functioning of the Danish labor market in the days of current economic boom and low unemployment.
