Skoda Power is again successful in Denmark

The Czech company SKODA POWER has again obtained a large order in Scandinavia.

ŠKODA POWER

The main customer is Vattenfall A/S, which Amager Power Plant will be also equiped with a new SKODA technology. Vattenfall, one of Europe´s most important electric power generating companies, is active in Scandinavia, Germany and Poland. Now, a new energy unit will be constructed in Odense, a birth place of fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen.

The order, which amounts to CZK 350 million (i.e. DKK 93 million) includes machine hall equipment with the output of 40 MW, which will be a part of the power plant`s new unit for biomass / straw incineration. SKODA POWER will also supply a single-casing steam turbine, a generator, a control system, heat exchangers and pipelines, all of which will be assembled and put into operation by SKODA. Design work has already commenced and the final hand over will be realized in June 2009. Several other Czech companies participate as sub-suppliers to SKODA POWER, as sub-supplies constitute approx. 60% of the total delivery and mainly comprise of pipelines, generators, control systems, armatures, pumps and castings.

In the latest couple of years SKODA POWER has achieved several orders in Scandinavia, e.g. two power plant projects in Sweden (Mönsterås 50 MW, Värö 60MW), one in Finland (Tornio 45MW) and the above mentioned in Denmark ( Amager 80MW). SKODA POWER was chosen for the project because of its top technical solution in particular and its excellent references in Finland - the modernization of the Hanasaari power plant and the turbo-set supply for the Seinäjoki power plant. The projects were completed in the nineties and cemented the quality of the Czech industry in Scandinavia.
