Screening of the film "Something Like Happiness"

Presentation of the new and the older Czech movies every two monthes at the Embassy of the Czech republic gains more and more viewers. There are Czech students, Czech compatriots and members of their families, and their friends also. Last two movies were visited by diplomats of Slovakia and Hungary.

On 23 January the movie by the director Bohdan Sláma who is also the author of the script was presented: Something Like Happiness (original title Štěstí). This film follows up with his successful first movie Wild Bees (Divoké včely) which has had a very good public acceptance in Czech cinemas and was introduced in many international film festivals.

Something Like Happiness was introduced also in the frame of .the Copenhagen International Film festival in October 2006, so it was known by a part of public, nevertheless, some of them came again. The movie was received in Czech cinema theatres with enthusiasm, was successful abroad also: Toronto, Montreal, Istanbul, Athens. Was awarded as a Best film in the International Film Festival in San Sebastian 2005 and received the First prize for the best actress in a leading role. It was awarded as well nine prizes in Czech Lion Awards 2005: best film, best direction, best actor and actress in leading roles and supporting roles, best script, best camera, etc.

In the leading parts of the film: Tatiana Wilhelmová, Aňa Geislerová, Pavel Liška, Bolek Polívka and Simona Stašová, also two Slovak actors: Martin Huba and Zuzana Krónerová. Music was composed by Leonid Soybelmanian, production: Pavel Strnad.
