The Czech opera “Katja Kabanova“ at the Royal Theatre

The Danish National Opera presented the Czech opera "Katja Kabanova" by Leoš Janáček on Sunday 10 November 2013 at the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen. Pavla Vykopalová, one of the most typecast Czech sopranos, starred in the leading role.

This performance will be presented on eight other theatre scenes around Denmark, some of which are in Aarhus, Aalborg and Odense.

After the performance the Czech ambassador Jiří Brodský met with the Czech soprano Pavla Vykopalová and the representatives of the Danish theatres who came to see this exceptional opera production. Together they discussed the possibilities for further cooperation and next year‘s celebration of the 160th anniversary of the birth of the world acclaimed Czech composer Leoš Janáček.
