Meeting between Czech and Danish scientists in Life Sciences in Copenhagen

On Tuesday 29 April 2014 the Czech Embassy in Copenhagen arranged in cooperation with Copenhagen Bio Science Park (COBIS) and the agencies CzechInvest and CzechTrade, a workshop focused on the sector of Life Sciences. The meeting between scientists from the Czech Republic and Denmark was organized as part of the program supporting economic diplomacy in 2014, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.
The project was realized as a seminar where the investment environment of the Czech Republic and the sector of Life Sciences were introduced. The presentations by the Czech participants focused on very specific areas of the sector - cancer research, genetics and cardiovascular diseases. Afterwards, matchmaking negotiations between partners from the Czech Republic and Denmark followed.
This very prestigious event was attended by several world renowned Czech scientists, such as professor Jiří Bártek, Head of the Laboratory of Cell Cycle and Cancer in the research institute Kræftens Bekæmpelse (Danish Cancer Society), Radislav Sedláček – one of the prominent Czech experts in the field of transgenic and gene-modified organisms, René Samek – Director of the International Strategic Partnerships of ICRC (International Clinical Research Center), Marián Hajdúch – Director of the Institute of Molecular and Translational Medicine in Olomouc, Marek Kořínek – Head of the section of combinatorial chemistry of the company Apigenex, and others.
