Visit to Ringsted

On Tuesday 17 June 2014 the Czech Ambassador in Denmark Jiří Brodský visited the town of Ringsted. He met with the Mayor Henrik Hvidesten with whom he discussed the possibilities for cooperation in the field of economic diplomacy and culture. They also talked about the common projects between the twin towns Ringsted and Kutná Hora whose partnership celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.

The Ambassador talked with the Mayor about the planned infrastructure projects related to the development of the town centre, about the possibilities for regular contact between elementary and high schools and about an exhibition focused on Czech sights placed on UNESCO's list of the world's cultural and natural heritage. One of the discussed topics was also the program of this year´s Medieval festival in Ringsted which will take place 14 – 17 August 2014 in the presence of the representatives of the town hall of Kutná Hora.

The Ambassador also visited the abbey church in Ringsted where the Czech princess Markéta Přemyslovna, in Denmark known as Queen Dagmar, is buried.
