There were 1500 players from 68 countries divided into 24 national teams participating in the championship, which took place at the multipurpose stadium in Copenhagen's Valby district. The Czech team competed in three main categories – open, women and mix.

Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Denmark, Mr. Jiří Brodský, took part in the opening ceremony on Monday 27 July.
