Organized by the University of Copenhagen and the Embassies of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland, the event introduced to the students, as well as the public interested in the new study program, the countries of the Central European region from different perspectives through the panel discussions and lectures devoted to political, economic and cultural topics. There was also a meeting with representatives of the private sector, who shared the experience of Danish companies working in the region of Central Europe and talked about job opportunities for the graduated students at the local labour market. The program also offered a film projection, a jazz concert by four musicians from the Visegrad countries (the Czech Republic was represented by percussionist Václav Pálka), and an opportunity to taste Central European cuisine specialties. The stands in foyer provided information and promotion materials related to each country.

The Central European Studies are designed as an interdisciplinary programme, supplemented by a semestral internship in a business company in one of the Central European countries. The programme was founded due to a common initiative by the university and the ambassadors of the Visegrad countries accredited in Denmark, with support of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland and a financial support of the International Visegrad Fund. The University of Copenhagen will offer the programme to the students of all faculties from 1 April 2015.
