Visegrad countries' roundtable on regional cooperation

On 27 June 2016 an expert round-table debate on regional cooperation in Central Europe and on Eastern Partnership took place at the Copenhagen seat of Baltic Development Forum, attended by the Visegrad countries' ambassadors together with the International Visegrad Fund Director General.

The event has been initiated by the Ambassador of Poland to Denmark, Henryka Mościcka-Dendys, on the occasion of the opening of the Polish presidency of the Visegrad group. The International Visegrad Fund Director General, Ms Beata Jaczewska, introduced some of the projects which are being supported by the Fund. The Visegrad countries' Ambassadors discussed with Danish participants the cooperation with the Eastern Partnership countries, energy issues and the project Nordstream II, as well as the Western Balkans and the current EU political agenda. The Czech Ambassador to Denmark, Jiří Brodský, focused his contribution on Western Balkans countries and stressed that one of the main priorities for the Czech foreign policy is to ensure that the Western Balkans countries do not loose the perspective of the EU membership and that the EU enlargement agenda doesn't become a matter of history. Ambassador also appreciated the International Visegrad Fund' support to the study programme "Central European Studies" at Danish universities.
