Czech director Petr Lom at CPH:DOX 2017

The film Burma Storybook by Czech director Petr Lom was presented at the Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival CPH:DOX 2017, which took place in Copenhagen on 16 – 26 March 2017. The film has been included in the non-competitive category of a special selection of exclusive premiere screenings.

The documentary Burma Storybook, created in coproduction of the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Norway, was presented at the festival by its author on Tuesday 21 March at 9:30 pm in Cinemateket. The cinema-goers could see the film also on Thursday 23 March at 7:15 pm at Grand Teatret.

Films by Director Petr Lom have been screened at more than 150 film festivals, including Sundance, Berlinale, IDFA, Rotterdam or Locarno. His latest film Burma Storybook follows one of the most famous Burmese dissidents, a poet Main Aun Pwinta, who was imprisoned for many years. Now he is waiting for his son, who is returning to the country after several decades.

CPH:DOX is the third largest documentary film festival in the world. Each year, the festival shows a selection of more than 200 films from around the world. More than 90 thousand visitors attended the festival in 2015.
