Night with Andersen is being held since 2000 on the occasion of the anniversary of the birth of Danish fairy-tale writer, Hans Christian Andersen on 2 April. Patrons of this year's Night with Andersen were the heroes of Čtyřlístek, a popular Czech comic book series, and its author Jaroslav Němeček.

Besides the Czech Republic the event took place also in Slovakia, Poland, Slovenia, the Ukraine and the Czech schools abroad. The Czech School in Copenhagen arranged a program for the children of Czech expats living in Denmark 1 – 2 April 2017 in Albertslund.
