Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in Copenhagen

 
The 128th meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe was held on May 17-18, 2018 in Helsingør, which officially put an end to the Danish 6-month long presidency.

In addition to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Anders Samuelsen, the meeting attended also Crown Prince Frederik and prime minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen. The delegation of the Czech Republic was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivo Šrámek. The main focus of the agenda was a debate on current challenges of international security and the future role of the Council of Europe. The result of the Danish Presidency is the adoption of the Copenahagen Declaration in regard of the reform of the European Court of Human Rights. Denmark then handed over its 6-month long presidency to Croatia.
