Czech delegation participated in opening of museum and conference in Aleppo

On 24th of October 2019 was held an opening ceremony of the Syrian National Museum in Aleppo with participation of director - general of the Czech National Museum PhDr. Michal Lukes and representatives of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Damascus.
Subsequently the Czech delegation took part in the conference "Aleppo city - past, present and the future", held by Syrian Directorate - General for Antiquities and Museums, where director - general Michal Lukes presented portfolio of activities of the Czech National Museum and summarized bilateral cooperation with Syrian partners within the Czech Government programme "Humanitarian, Developement and Reconstruction Assistance to Syria".
This programme is being implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and it has been extended until 2022 by decision of the Government of the Czech Republic.
