SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT - LONG-TERM VISAS AND PERMITS 

 

1. Registration for lodging the application shall be done in writing only via email address:

dresden.employment@mzv.gov.cz (for the registration of an appointment to submit application for employee card and long-term visa for the purpose of seasonal employment; we do not respond to inquiries sent to this e-mail address!)

dresden.registration@mzv.gov.cz  (for the registration of an appointment to submit visa application except application for employee card and long-term visa for the purpose of seasonal employment; we do not respond to inquiries sent to this e-mail address!)

2. In the e-mail´s subject indicate: the applicant's unique travel document number.

All email registrations must include:

  • applicant´s name and surname,
  • applicant´s date of birth,
  • applicant´s travel document number,
  • purpose of intended stay (study, family reunification, employment, business, sport, scientific research, invitation, etc.),
  • applicant´s contact details (telephone and email).

E-mail attachments - applicant must attach to the registration e-mail following documents in .jpg or .pdf format):

  • purpose of stay (for example a certificate of study, a marriage certificate, or a trade license from the Czech Republic),
  • passport data page.

Applicants who are not exempt from the rule of territorial consular competence rule shall attach to the e-mail the documents of a future application that will testify to its admissibility under Section 169g(1) in conjunction with § 169h (1) b) Act No. 326/1999 Coll., on the Residence of Foreign Nationals in the Territory of the Czech Republic and on Amendments to Certain Acts:

a scan of a valid residence permit issued by one of the countries that belong to the territorial area of the Dresden Visa Centre,

scans of documents proving previous legal continuous residence in the territorial area of the Dresden Visa Centre for at least 2 years (e.g. previous residence cards, previous long-term visas, confirmation of residence, etc.). The condition of having reached at least 2 years of previous residence must be met on the date of application.

3. 1 applicant = 1 e-mail. Please send only one email in order to register for an appointment. Only one applicant can be subscribed in each email.  A parent applying together with his/her children, can register by sending one e-mail. In this case, the information of all the applicants/of the whole family, must be stated in the e-mail enquiry.

4. Your e-mail will be registered in a queue in the order received.

5. Following e-mails will be excluded from registration: 1) e-mails that are not sent in the format specified in point 2, 2) e-mails by which the applicant attempts to register more applicants at the same time - with the exception of e-mails from parents who are also registering their minors, 3) e-mails sent several times by one applicant, 4) e-mails sent to a different e-mail address, 5) e-mails with attachments larger than 10 MB, 6) emails that have the functionality of not being able to send a reply from the mailbox to which they are delivered activated by the sender. 

6. After successful registration an automated response will be sent within 3 working days with a date registered for lodging your application. Please note that the date for lodging the application at the Dresden Visa Centre cannot be changed.

7. If you have not received any date for lodging your visa application, this is due to the fact, that the Dresden Visa Centre is being full or due to the procedure in point 2 not being followed.

8. Please note that you cannot change your appointment. For capacity reasons and in the interest of transparency and predictability, we cannot assign a specific date according to the applicant's wishes. If you are unable to use the date allocated, you must register for a new appointment as per the procedure above. If you fail to appear, you lose the appointment. If you arrive late without notifying us, you lose your appointment as well - in this case the visa centre will deal with other applicants who arrived on time.

Once the application has been decided, the visa centre will contact the applicant. You can check the status of your application for a long-term visa/residence permit here. We do not answer to enquiries regarding the status of the application before the legal deadline expires.

 

 

HOW TO LODGE THE APPLICATION

Lodging the application in person

After successful registration an automated response will be sent within 5 working days with a date registered for lodging your application. This date cannot be changed. You must lodge the application in person.

Possibility of waiving the obligation to apply in person

The obligation to lodge the application in person may be waived under the provisions of Sec. 169d (3) of Act No 326/1999 Coll., on the residence of foreigners in the territory of the Czech Republic, in the case of citizens of Australia, Japan, Canada, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the USA, provided that they apply for one of the following residence permits:

· long-term visa - except for the application for a long-term visa for business purposes, for which the law requires personal appearance for the purpose of conducting an interview (§57(2) of Act No. 326/1999 Coll., on the residence of foreigners in the territory of the Czech Republic and on amendments to certain acts);

· residence permit for an applicant registered within the Highly Qualified Employee Program or the Key and Scientific Personnel Program, including his/her family members who are accompanying the applicant;

· long-term residence permit for the purpose of scientific research and family members of the applicant.

These applications can be delivered through an authorized person (with the power of attorney). 

Please note that you may be ask for personal appearance in Dresden Visa Centre for an interview.
