The first Czech water management trade mission to Ireland

From 4 - 6 October 2017, the Czech Embassy in Dublin held the first Czech water management trade mission to Ireland with the aims of showcasing six Czech water management companies to Irish engineering establishment, introducing them to Irish Water, finding suitable Irish distribution reseller partners and customers, and increasing the overall profile of Czech engineering companies in Ireland.

On 5 October 2017 the Czech Embassy hosted the main event “The Czech Water Management Trade Show” in Dublin (the Aviva stadium), which saw 29 attendees from Irish firms along with the Czech Engineering delegation and Embassy staff.  The trade show was launched by Ambassador Hana Mottlova, who addressed the audience on developing relations between the Czech Republic and Ireland in an effort to assist Irish Water with their current development needs. Irish Water, which was the Embassy´s partner on the Irish side, was represented by Chief Technical Advisor Mr Gerry Galvin, who continued the message of creating partnerships in an effort to assist Irish Water´s mission.

The company business presentations were the key part of the morning programme: 

  •  Mr. Pavel Sorejs from BRENTWOOD presented their municipal wastewater technologies- Bio treatment, Polychem, SedVac and Tube Settlers. 
  • Mr. Roman Kopáček from ENVI-PUR presented their companies portfolio which entailed smaller scale wastewater for towns, households, separators, pumps and filtrations systems. 
  • Mr. Jaromír Klaban from TECO explained how programmable logic controllers can assist in water and wastewater infrastructure.   
  • Mr. Jaromír Klaban on behalf of EKOSYSTEM gave an overview of their water filtration systems for municipal waterworks treatment for both drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Mr. Radek Banyr from ENIKA showed how Enika´s automated lighting can reduce electricity bills by 80 % and can be developed to control water management systems.
  •  Mr. Václav Szturc from WOMBAT showcased their trenchless pipeline monitoring system and how they can reduce leakages and aid in sewage pumping.

The second half of the trade show focused on business meetings and technical presentations.  Brentwood and Teco took the floor to present their technical specifications to the engaged audience. This afternoon segment allowed for open dialogue between Czech representatives and Irish participants, who showed high level of interest in the services and products offered by Czech engineering companies. The trade show has opened up many channels for further development for all Czech companies involved.
