The Czech - Irish Green Building Conference contributed to the development of bilateral company cooperation

On 30 October 2019, the Embassy of the Czech Republic organized an extremely successful event called the Czech - Irish Green Building Conference in the framework of projects supporting economic diplomacy PROPED. The conference, organized in cooperation with SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) and NGO IGBC (Irish Green Building Council), was attended by 70 representatives of Irish and Czech companies. The event was preceded by a “Green Walk” excursion on October 29 - a tour of the high-rise residential and commercial buildings under construction by developer Ballymore and several other modern buildings in Dublin.

The conference was very fittingly, held in the Irish Architectural Archive, began with the speech of the Czech Ambassador to Ireland Petr Kynštetr. He spoke about the Czech Republic's interest in cooperation with smaller EU countries in all areas, including green energy and green buildings. He added that the conference reflects the increasing demand for green building solutions to achieve carbon neutrality and win the fight against climate change. Much work remains to rebuild hundreds of thousands of old buildings and carbon-neutral new buildings. He also stressed that the present top Czech companies, as examples of high-quality engineering in the Czech Republic, offering advanced technologies and quality products to tackle both carbon neutrality climate change.

SEAI CEO Ray Langton and IGBC Director Pat Barry also spoke in the next part of the conference. The presentation of the representatives of the Irish company Pure Air and the transport company Cargo Partners also called for closer cooperation between Czech and Irish companies.

The biggest attention of the Irish representatives was focused on presentations of six Czech companies: Jablotron LT (https://www.jablotronlt.com/en/) presented by Director Roman Šalamon, Enika (https://www.enika.eu/) Director Pavel Macák, Amit (https://amitomation.cz/en) Sales Director Radim Bondy, Modus (https://www.modus.cz/en/) Sales Director Jan Kavka, TC Mach (http://www.tepelna-cerpadla-mach.cz/en/) Director Barbora Machová and IMA (https://www.ima.cz/?lang=en) Sales Representative Jan Orlický.

Each Czech company had its own stand where its representatives had the opportunity to provide more detailed information about the products on offer and to establish contacts and business cooperation with Irish partners, which was fully achieved.

Both Czech and Irish participants highly appreciated the choice of companies on all sides, as they looked forward to establishing promising contacts and even opening negotiations on potential contracts.
