Deputy Minister Aleš Chmelař held consultations in Dublin

On 9 September 2021, Aleš Chmelař, Minister of State for European Affairs, visited Dublin and held consultations with Irish partners on current EU issues.

As part of his programme, Mr. Chmelař met with Thomas Byrne, Minister of State for European Affairs, Joe Hackett, Secretary General of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ireland, and Joe McHugh, Chairman of the Committee on EU Affairs. On this occasion, Mr. Chmelař discussed issues of bilateral Czech - Irish relations, current foreign policy and EU issues and presented to the Irish side the priorities of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU in the second half of 2022.

Mr. Chmelař also took part in an academic discussion with experts from the IIEA think tank (The Institute of International and European Affairs) and met with the management of the Czech School Dublin.
