Presentation of priorities for the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU at the National Ploughing Championships

On September 20, 2022, Deputy Head of Mission Filip Vurm presented the priorities for the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU to the public at the biggest trade show in Ireland the National Ploughing Championships in the Global Ireland marquee, which was organised by the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The presentation was followed by a discussion about Czech Presidency and Czech foreign policy with the visitors present. This event was held at the pavilion of the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs, named as “Global Ireland” according to the Irish strategy of foreign policy. The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs aimed to bring foreign policy and EU issues closer to the Irish public.

The National Ploughing Championships is the biggest Irish agricultural fair and, at the same time, the biggest outdoor event in Europe which attracts approximately 300,000 visitors every year.
