Presentation of priorities for the Czech Presidency to the Diplomatic Coprs and Department of Foreign Affairs

On 04. 07. 2022 the Czech Embassy in Dublin organised a HoMs meeting in the premises of the Royal Dublin Society. On this occasion, Ambassador Petr Kynštetr presented the priorities of the Czech Republic’s presidency of the Council of the EU.

In his speech, the Ambassador stated that the Czech Republic is taking over the presidency in turbulent times, and its priorities, which are interlinked, correspond to this fact. The Ambassador emphasised the importance of topics such as the resilience of the European economy, democratic institutions and energy security. He also stressed the importance of the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine and the support of its European direction.

The event was attended by the Head of the EC Representation in Ireland Barbara Nolan, the Head of European Parliament Liason Office in Ireland Patrick O'Riordan, the Ambassadors of EU member states, representatives of the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs (director of the Department of Institutions and Coordination Unit Aoife McGarry and Deputy Director Stephen Ryan). The Czech Embassy also symbolically supported the European perspective of Ukraine by inviting the Ukrainian ambassador to the event.
