The Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Erbil devotes maximum attention to the development of cultural cooperation between the Czech Republic and Iraqi Kurdistan, especially in the field of music and promotion of the Czech music scene, also because music not only improves mood and releases stress, worries, anxiety or distress, but it is a universal  way of communication among people, a communication medium that crosses language barriers and contributes to mutual learning about different cultures.

After this year's successful performance of excellent Moravian folklore dulcimer music ensemble Olšava from Uherský Brod with young dancers at the celebration of the 2719th Kurdish New Year Nawroz in Erbil on 17-21 March 2019, the Czech Consulate General in Erbil introduced another representative of rich Czech musical and cultural scene - Bohemia Saxophone Quartet (BSQ).

In cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Erbil and the Governorate of the Duhok province, respectively with the Directorate General of Arts and Culture in Duhok, BSQ performed in the main hall of the Institute of Fine Arts in Duhok on 29^th October 2019. The whole concert was broadcasted live by WAAR TV.

The second concert of BSQ was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Kurdistan Regional Government, the Governorate of the Slemany province of Suleiman, respectively Directorate General of Arts and Culture and the Art Syndicate of Kurdistan in Slemany in Roshnbira Hall on 30^th October 2019. On the same day, BSQ was a guest of the Kurdsat Magazine show of the Kurdsat TV.

If the capacity, budget, sponsors' support and interest of Czech artists allow it, the Czech Consulate General in Erbil intends to continue in similar activities of which there is a strong interest in Iraqi Kurdistan.
