Employee migration quotas

With effect from 1 September 2019, the Government of the Czech Republic decided to introduce quotas for accepting applications for Employee Cards and Long-term Visas for the purpose of doing business in order to secure labor force for the Czech labor market and the related concept of targeted economic migration. Government Regulation No. 220/2019, dated 26 August 2019.

The main objective of the concept of targeted economic migration is to strengthen the inflow of skilled labor from selected countries to the Czech Republic.

For the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Erbil, an annual quota of 60 Employee Card applications (Program highly qualified staff, Scientific staff only), zero Long-term business Visa applications was set.

Both quotas are not exceeded, the embassy, consulate cannot accept more applications than stipulated by Government decree.

Both quotas will be evenly distributed over 12 months. The method of ordering deadlines for applications will be published on the website of the embassy.
