The guests were welcomed by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in the Netherlands Ms Kateřina Sequensová and the Director of the Czech Center Rotterdam Ms Hana Schenková. The stage was then dedicated to the mezosopranist Eva Garajová and pianist Miroslav Sekera, who presented the works of Antonín Dvořák and Bedřich Smetana, but also Gustav Mahler and Richard Strauss. The event was aimed primarily at members of the expatriate community; at the end of the concert everyone had the opportunity to join the singing of Czech Christmas carols.
