Conducter Jiří Bělohlávek passed away

Conducter  of Czech Philharmonic Jiří Bělohlávek passed away today  after a long-lasting illness.  We lost a person of extraordinary artistic and personal qualities. Jiří Bělohlávek  worked as a main guest conductor of the Rotterdam Philharmonic  Orchestra since 2013. He was a relentless promoter of Czech music, under his baton in Rotterdam, the works of Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák, Leoš Janáček, Josef Suk and Bohuslav Martinů were played. We highly appreciate his work for the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra as well as the personal meetings with him and express our sincere condolences to Mrs Anna and to the whole family.
