Obecná škola (The Elementary School)

On the occasion of 80th birthday of Zdeněk Svěrák, a Czech playwright, screenwriter and actor, there will be a projection of the film Obecná škola (The Elementary School), for which Zdeněk Svěrák wrote the screenplay and his son Jan was the director.
The movie received an Oscar nomination for the best foreign film. It narrates a cheerful post-war story of two pupils who enjoy their lives but only until a new teacher comes and makes their living tough. The film is popular both among viewers and reviewers. In cooperation with the Czech Centre.
