Presentation of Marek Šindelka's Materiaalmoeheid in The Hague

On Sunday the 3rd of June Marek Šindelka will present the Dutch publication of his latest novel 'Materiaalmoeheid' ('Únava materiálu'). The author will discuss his work with the translator of his books into Dutch Edgar de Bruin. Translator Kees Mercks will open the event with a  talk about the link between Czechoslovak literature and the Prague Spring 1968.

The event is organised by the Tsjechisch Centrum Nederland in cooperation with the Haagse Kunstkring, Das Mag, CzechLit - České literární centrum and Moravská zemská knihovna.

Film Club Ikarie XB-1

After a short stopover in Rotterdam, the Czech Centre Rotterdam Film Club hits the road again! The next stop will be in Delft, where in the cooperation with TU Delft and Filmhuis Lumen we have prepared a screening of the Czechoslovak sci-fi classic Ikarie XB-I.

Book presentation of Jaroslav Rudis' Het volk boven (National Avenue) at the Goethe-Institut in Amsterdam


On Wednesday the 13th of June the Czech writer Jaroslav Rudiš will present the Dutch publication of his latest book 'National Avenue' ('Het volk boven'). The evening will be moderated by Guido Snel, professor of Modern European Literature at the University of Amsterdam. The event is organised by the Czech Centre Rotterdam and Goethe-Institut.

From February Jaroslav Rudiš is a writer in residence at NIAS-KNAW - Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study with the support of Nederlands Letterenfonds.

Fashionclash is an international event dedicated to young designers and artists which brings together more than 150 talents from 25 countries. The 3-day program takes place at SAM-Decorfabriek in Maastricht and provides and inspiration from the world of fashion. After the last year's success, Michaela Čapková comes back to present her collection from the project Power of identity – Memory fashion message which was created on the occasion of centennial anniversary of the foundation of Czechoslovakia. Her fashion show will be open by dancing performance of Andrea Vykysalá Benková.
