Centennary commemoration ceremony of First Use of Chemical Weapons was held in Ieper, Belgium

On April 21st, 2015 Ambassador Reinišová attended a commemoration of the centennary of first use of chemical weapons in Ieper/Ypres (Belgium).

On April 21st, 2015 Ambassador Reinišová attended a commemoration of the centennary of first use of chemical weapons in Ieper/Ypres (Belgium). This commemoration under auspices of the Government of Belgium, City of Ieper and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW, seated in The Hague) was attended by the Director General of OPCW Mr. Ahmet Üzümcü, BE Minister of Defense Mr. Steven Vandeput, Mayor of Ieper Mr. Jan Durnez a representatives of Diplomatic Corps of both Brussels and The Hague. At the end of commemoration, a Declaration on Securing Universality of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) has been adopted. (full text available at: ieper100.org/commemoration/ieper-declaration/).
