Among other issues discussed between the two presidents, they also discussed the world economic crisis. President Peres said that Israel is a leader in high-tech, agriculture, and science, and would be happy to broaden its cooperation with the Czech Republic. At the end of the meeting, a research and development agreement between the two countries was signed in the presence of the two Presidents.

According to the agreement, the countries will act to promote joint research and development initiatives in a variety of industries, particularly on elite technologies.
